Chemical Manufacturers and Consumer Products

ScitoVation has over 40 years of history partnering with chemical producers and consumer product manufacturers of food ingredients and cosmetic products. We are pioneers in developing methods that are faster, more biologically relevant to humans, and less costly than animal studies. Principals at a predecessor organization to ScitoVation, The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences, contributed to the National Research Council's Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century: A Vision and a Strategy (2007).
What Our Decades of Industry Partnership Gives You
- Familiarity with a wide range of chemistries. Lessons learned on compounds with similar modes of action or safety profiles carry forward into your assessment.
- Tools and methods built for the chemical industry. We're not starting from a blank page for common problem types, which means faster turnaround.
- A deep base of chemical data, built from decades of client work across food ingredients, cosmetics, and industrial chemicals.
- Established relationships across the risk-assessment community, with regulators, academia, and non-government organizations, supporting stronger acceptance of our results.
Advancing New Approach Methods (NAMs)
We work directly with the risk-assessment community to help speed the adoption of New Approach Methods (NAMs), including participating in regulator-facing efforts to develop submission standards. Through HESI, we contribute to committees on PBPK model submission, work that has already produced a published consensus paper, alongside working groups on transcriptomics, inhalation, and genotoxicity.
Client Success Stories
Submission of a PBPK model to EPA on the evaluation of a class of pesticides (pyrethroids)
Use of NAMs for prioritizing compounds
Understanding mode of action of a food contaminant (acetamide)
