Job Overview:

ScitoVation is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in PBPK/IVIVE who will serve as both a scientific leader and a business driver. Unlike traditional technical positions, this role emphasizes leveraging your reputation, scientific expertise, and professional network to generate new business opportunities, build client relationships, and expand ScitoVation’s impact in the field of computational toxicology. You will collaborate closely with our existing PBPK modeling team, who execute the technical modeling, while you focus on securing projects, shaping strategy, and ensuring scientific excellence in client-facing deliverables.

The ideal candidate is a recognized thought leader in PBPK/IVIVE, particularly in areas such as reproductive and developmental safety, with a proven ability to influence the field through publications, regulatory engagement, and conference presence. You are expected to bring in revenue by cultivating client partnerships, winning contracts, and positioning ScitoVation as the partner of choice for PBPK and NAMs.

Accountable for:

  • Leading scientific strategy in PBPK/IVIVE and reproductive safety, ensuring ScitoVation remains at the forefront of NAMs.
  • Driving revenue generation by leveraging your network to secure new projects, collaborations, and long-term client relationships.
  • Representing ScitoVation externally through conferences, publications, and regulatory/scientific forums, reinforcing the company’s brand and thought leadership.
  • Overseeing project design and ensuring scientific rigor, while delegating hands-on modeling work to ScitoVation’s existing PBPK modelers.
  • Authoring and reviewing client-facing reports, technical notes, and regulatory submissions that meet the highest scientific and professional standards.
  • Collaborating with toxicologists, computational scientists, and business development staff to align scientific capability with client needs.

Education and Experience:

  • PhD in pharmacokinetics, chemical engineering, computational toxicology, pharmacometrics, or a related discipline.
  • Established expertise and recognition in PBPK/IVIVE modeling, with a strong publication record and active participation in scientific/regulatory communities.
  • Demonstrated success in generating revenue, securing grants or contracts, or building sustainable client relationships.
  • Proven ability to act as a principal investigator or project leader in collaborative industry or regulatory science settings.
  • Familiarity with simulation platforms (e.g., PK-Sim, GastroPlus, Berkeley Madonna, MATLAB) and their application to IVIVE and reproductive safety.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work outside of normal hours will sometimes be required.

Travel:

Certain amount of travel is expected for conferences and scientific presentations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
